A guy at the office is going to stop paying federal taxes, I will sit and watch what happens. I can hardly blame him, I am almost as fed up with waste and control of federal goverment. THe tax code without a doubt needs to be overhauled. It is very dangerious for any country to have a tax system like we do. Tax stats for this year:
top 5% will pay 55% of all taxes.
the top 5% is 120k and above.
top 25% will pay about 80% of taxes
This is about 75k and above
The bottom 50% will pay 4% of taxes.
This year 13+Million will get up $3500 more back in taxes than they payed in.
The people paying the bills have no vote in how their money gets spent, it is simply collected and redistributed. Not paying federal taxes is about the only vote the middleclass and above have. But of course that vote comes with likely penalties.
The federal tax code needs to be reduced to a single flat rate that applied to all with no deductions.
