Woo buying votes with EITC; super.
Voting will be a snap after we issue them Drivers Licenses and SS numbers in those backward states that actually require some form of proof to vote.

It's quite remarkable how the voter fraud myth resonates among the rabid right. Seems to fit right in with the persecution complex rather neatly.

No, it's a credit, not refund. But if a single person works full time at minimum wage, that person won't qualify for it because he/she earned too much.

And in any case, zero income = zero EITC.

Because people can't lie on a tax return form... especially just after becoming "legal". Yup... nope... no one can lie on tax return forms. There is a force field that will immediately deflect any lies in their wages earned for the year :D

OK, I understand completely now. And to think I was confused. That's what the conservative "game" is all about. Cut funding for things like health care and education just so the illegals can't access it. All makes sense now. And who cares if it negatively impacts "real" Americans.

Gotcha.

The key word in your statement is funding. The conservative game, I hope, would be to ensure there is funding 10,20, or 30 years an beyond for these various programs. Who knew someone could be excited to hear the news that the projected deficit in 2015 will only be $500 billion.

obama plans more spending (i.e., free college needing more taxation) on top of additional costs to businesses for his new regulatory avalanches. under obama the number of people on social security disability has skyrocketed. So much so that obama wanted to raid $300+ billion from the regular social security retirement fund to help out the quickly going bankrupt disability fund (thank you senate republicans for stopping this). 46.5 million Americans get food stamps. I won't even get into the ACA.

So yes, people who entered the U.S. illegally, worked illegally (while supressing wages across many industries) will now get to claim earned income credit....there should be concern.

Damn those illegals, just wait until they can corrupt our politicians into legislating tax code that gives them huge tax breaks and subsidies like our very own ultra rich folks do all day every day. This, all while raising taxes on the middle class and the poor and getting rid of fed programs that a lot of these folks have to rely on because those same very rich "job creators" would rather hoard their loot offshore to take advantage of that favorable tax code and others that they wrote for themselves.

As Jhhnn mentioned, let's hope the Repub controlled Congress can hop off their hypocritical hobby horses and plug up ALL of those unfair/"unintended" loopholes that cheat and disadvantages the AVERAGE American taxpayer while the Repubs still hold power.

I'm sure the Dems would be more than happy to oblige.

Woo buying votes with EITC; super.

That socialist liberal Gerald Ford hatched the evil plot to pass the EITC. Then that commie liberal Ronald Reagan had to expand it to bring in even more votes for the Demoncrats. Liberal flower child George H. W. Bush pumped it up some more to further entice liebruls to vote for even more Demonrats!

They did this just so Obama could buy all of the votes and become king of the world.

It's the Kenyan voodoo time warp mind control, obviously.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told Congress on Wednesday that even illegal immigrants who didn’t pay taxes will be able to claim back-refunds once they get Social Security numbers under President Obama’s temporary deportation amnesty.

Here's a section of the law:

§ 32 - Earned income

(m) Identification numbers
Solely for purposes of subsections (c)(1)(E) and (c)(3)(D), a taxpayer identification number means a social security number issued to an individual by the Social Security Administration (other than a social security number issued pursuant to clause (II) (or that portion of clause (III) that relates to clause (II)) of section 205(c)(2)(B)(i) of the Social Security Act).

What paragraph (m) above means is that no EITC for parent or child(ren) if no SS. I.e., the ITIN illegals (and other nonresident aliens) use cannot be used to claim an EITC.

Now for me the interesting question to me is how in the hell is the IRC Commissioner reinterpreting law to consider a newly issued SS# from 2015 valid to meet the criteria in prior years?

At the time of filing tax returns for years 2014, 2013 and/or 2012 these illegal aliens did NOT meet the requirements of tax law. How is a refund possible?

Seems like every day it's something shockingly stupid from the clowns appointed by Obama.

Edit: Wanted to add this. The ITIN is what illegal aliens and nonresident aliens have in place of a SS#. This is what these illegals would have had in the years prior to receiving a SS#:

ITIN holders are not eligible for all of the tax benefits and public benefits that U.S. citizens and other taxpayers can receive. For example, an ITIN holder is not eligible for Social Security benefits or the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). However, if that person becomes eligible for Social Security in the future (through legalizing his or her status, for example), the earnings reported with an ITIN may be counted toward the amount he or she is eligible to receive.

So, no EITC for such year. (However, the earnings reported under the ITIN can be used to calculate SS benefits should they become eligible in the future.)
