Well, it finally happened. Today I got two phone calls from (302) 251-8071 with a stern males voice purporting to be from the IRS, and I was to return the call to their "Hotline." Hoo boy! Dutifully, I reported it to phishing@IRS.gov. IRS guidance is not to return the call, period. The Delaware number is likely spoofed. Anyone else get one of these calls?

The IRS does not seem to care about spoofing.

A few years ago, I tracked one for a period of 3-4 months; getting emails about 1-2 week.
Each time I reported via the IRS website; how can they say that they will investigate if such goes on for that period of time.

Are that they many setups that they do not have the resources to chase it down; they received the header info from me each time.

congress has cut IRS funding so much that they barely have any people to answer your phone calls. they don't have people to look into spoofing

I put that phone number on my blocked call list and have heard nothing further from it.

Yeah, they are really in the poor house by having automatic bonuses, and having so called meetings in Hawaii that just spend $$$ for nothing.

They have plenty of $$$ to do something, they just have no leadership to fix all the problems wrong with them.

The main problem with these scammers is that the phone company don't care, they just want the cash, and by the time they do something, they just open up a new account under another fake name. They have no incentive to put a stop to this crap.

In addition, they would have even more $$$ if they simply collected back taxes owed by IRS employees!
