Irritating Splash Screen

I recently purchased a HP8230e USB CDRW. It came with HP cd-writer and Adaptec Direct CD Software. The Adaptec Direct CD program has this really irritating "Roxio.com startup banner". In properties it has an option to disable startup banner but it's greyed out and I get the feeling that's intentional. Has anybody found a way to disable this splash screen?
