irritating bastard next door just OD-ed

guy next door just ODed (on heroin, I am assuming). Outside is a firetruck (why?) and two ambulance/ paramedic wagons. Plus flashing lights, etc.

you're right, it's his girl friend that is irritating, because she is unable to talk at a normal volume, she shouts at all times, and seems to have 5 or 6 arguments with this guy every day. They might not be arguments, tho, I think that is her normal mode of interaction with the world (crazed, high-intensity shrieking at people). the guy himself is quiet, I hardly ever see or hear him. I kind of wish the girl friend had ODed..

At any rate, the ambulances have left, and it looks like he will live.
