everyone has em ;)

mine is of a Dawn of the Dead-type scenario... that, like, I'll get out of work one morning, and I'll be trapped inside the most densely populated area of the united states surrounded by zombies who want to eat my brain. heh.

my best friend's girlfriend is afraid of escelators. no matter how much we reassure her, she has this fear that she's going to get sucked into the grate. if she has the option of taking the stairs, she'll take em; or if no one is around, she'll push the emergency stop button. if she absolutely has no choice, she'll ride the escelator, but it takes her a good minute or two before she's comfortable stepping onto it.

Spiders. I know that the vast majority of them cannot/would not hurt me, but I don't care. They freak me out, especially the chunky jumping ones. Eeek!

Well I wouldn't call it irrational but I have always been afraid of heights. It got better when I was working at a junkyard pulling parts off of cars that were stacked three high on racks. I know that is not very high up but you gotta start somewhere. I still feel like I am going to have a panic attack if I stand at the edge of a roof though.:(

same, never seen the jumping ones though, those that freak me out the most are the ones with the ultra long legs:Q

on second thought I used to have a dream that freaked me totaly out, my whole house was built out of bugs, the floors the walls, everything covered in bugs, but you could walk on them like it was all covered in a sheet of invisible plexiglass

I swear to god thats one of my biggest fears. After I watch a few of those movies, I'm usually freaked out to go outside or up to town (graveyard right before town). But then I remember, I've got a ladder, I'll just camp out on the top of my house until the feds get here. =D

I'm scared of height, either my glasses or myself would fall off into the abyss of 6ft. And I'm scared of ghosts and goblins when I'm all alone at night, this happen quite often since I work the night shift sometimes.

I fear getting castrated. Not really a plausable situation... but it's just something that makes me squirm.

I dont know if it counts, but when I'm in a really crowded bar or club, I typically get really anxious, my stomach gets in knots, and I start sweating.

I get that too, but I think I've narrowed the cause to too many shots of Old Grand Dad in too little time.

sounds like either a panic attack or just social anxiety. I get stuff like this too in large groups, though not quite that bad. I can just never think of anything to say; I'm deathly afraid of opening my mouth for fear of sounding like a complete and total dumbfvck. I also have this irrational fear of failing anything - especially if it's something simple, like missing a turn when I'm trying to drive somewhere. Stuff like that just really pisses me off.

Yeah, me too. I don't know why. It's a bit silly. I hate watching TV and they show close-ups on the dang things and you can see its eyes. There are some spiders that don't scare me (like the daddy long-legs) but some of those other ones...ohhhh brother.

Once I heard that spiders back in the day use to be really big and would eat humans, but the evolved into smaller things, but that fear still stuck with humans.

But for me, it was just watching too much "Aracnopobia" or national geographic.

Back in my early years of college, I had irrational fears that I had HIV from "questionable" women I had been with or simply by going to the dentist. I realized I had a problem when a freaking paper cut scared me.

It wasn't a normal level of fear, it was paralyzing my life for a couple of months. I was convinced I had it yet I refused to get tested out of fear.. Finally I decided to get tested and course everything turned out ok. It's never happened since, I often wonder what caused me to be so irrational about something like that.

mine are spiders and water where I can't see the bottom. As for spiders, I'm ok with jumping spiders for some reason, but the ones with long skinny legs freak the hell outta me. And I'm afraid of deep water and murky water, just because I'm not too fond of the squirmy things that inhabit such environments, and I hate swimming and feeling something brush against my leg. *shudder*

for some reason if someone says
"I wash my self with a rag on a stick, ahuckyuckyuck." quickly in a monotone redneck voice, it really creeps me out. I dunno why.

BTW, thats a simpsons quote when bart imagines getting fat.
