I have a ga-7zx-1 board with the latest non beta bios.I was running win 98 se and decided to upgrade to win xp pro this weekend. I flashed the bios to the latest version before the upgrade and installed winxp on a formatted hard drive. the problem I am having is win xp is putting my usb controlled, sound blaster live, gforce 4 vid card, modem and nic all on irq 9. I tried turning on and off plug and play os in the bios and none of the irq's moved at all. I have installed winxp on 4 different machines before and never seen this problem. the most I have seen was 2 devices sharing at the same time. even with all on irq 9 the machine boots up but sometimes there is popping with the sound and the video flashed on the screen when playing online games. I haven't tried swapping all the cards yet because of so many sharing 1 irq I didn't think that would help. should I clear the cmos?? it looked like it was cleared when I flashed should I clear with the jumper? could you please tell me what pci slots share with each other?? maybe swapping cards will help.
