Ive been having half-life lock up on me all the time where the screen will freeze and the sound gets like stuck and just loops foever only thing I can do is press the reset button. I was just taking a look at my IRQs in computer management and saw that IRQ 11 has 6 things on it which are

Nvidia Geforce 256
Creative SB live! series (WDM)
Linksys LNE100TX Fast ethernet adapter
Microsoft ACPI-Complaint System
Via USB Universal Controller
Via USB Universal Controller

Could the fact that all these things are using IRQ 11 (mainly sound vid and NIC) is what is causing my computer to lock up it would make sense to me I am using the most current 4-in-1s, SP2, 12.90 Detonator, and im not sure on the Sound blaster heres what it says in my control pannel

Driver Provider: Creative

It is normal for Win2k to share one IRQ for several recources, but from my (fairly limited) experience, it is usually IRQ9. My IRQ9 has 6 devices sharing it.
I would imagine this is because another device has already taken number 9.
I assume there are no conflicting devices in device manager.
Other than that, I can't help you, sorry.

Sounds to me like you may be experiencing the SB Live- VIA chipset problem. I think your board is a VIA chipset. The SB hogs the PCI bus and can cause problems like this in demanding applications (games). I had a similar problem with my system in EQ until I changed to a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card (Phillips and other cards don't exhibit this problem either). Do a search and Google and you'll find plenty of info on this. Here's a start Click Here

After you've sorted out your IRQ questions and if that doesn't work there are some bios edits you can make to help. If nothing else works I'd try another sound card. (Can always pull yours first and uninstall all the SB drivers and reg edits to test it in Half-life before you buy of course) :D
