IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screens

no, I don't think it's an error with the actual RAM. I think it's saying the driver made an error and tried to address memory that wasn't it's. (the driver crashed)

i have rioworks PDVIA, its just one dimm stick 512mb

Im pretty sure its just my dumb configuration, im using windowsXP

Have you just added this RAM since the errors began?

I ask because I had 25 (128, 64, 64) and added 768 so I had to take out the two 64's and I couldn't get it to stop giving this crash until I removed the 4th dimm stick (BX6 rev2 has huge issues with 4th dimm slot)

SOO, I figure it has to be your RAM, is it a registered stick?

actually yeah, i used to have 64 when i was waiting to get the 512 megs stick, and the ram is no registered (is hi density, 64x4 pc133 stick)

I think the general rule of thumb is that if you get a module larger then 256 it should be a registered module. If not a lot of mobo's have difficulties with them.

Of course that's expensive, so maybe you should get 2 256MB sticks.

I get this error on my non-overclocked PII-300, running WinXP, and everytime that I shut down. I just shut down the sys and forget about the error.

<< Does that mean i'm overclocking my ram too high not my cpu??? >>

Probably yea. What's your RAM rated at (MHz wise) and what bus speed are you trying to run your CPU at?

ok, its not overclocking thing. I put the cpus back to normal and it crashed again. I even pulled out my sound card, cuz i thought thats whats causing it.

Its 512 megs of crucial pc2100 memory on an epox 8k7a. I'm running my cpu at 1518 right now. The fsb is 138. Any higher than 138 and I get problems.

alright - one more reboot with cpus at normal clock and no sound card and i got no blue screens... weird
