IRQ War: Linksys Ethernet vs SB16 Emulation (Sound Blaster)

I'm trying to install my ethernet card on my computer for use while I'm here at school. My computer loads up just fine without the Linksys card installed. When I install the card itself I get an error message that tells me that there is an IRQ error for SB16 Emulation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to the best of my knowledge this means that they are both trying to use the same IRQ upon startup.

To try and fix this, I freed up a couple of IRQ spots to see if either one of the two would move over to the free places. No dice... Then, I tried to change their IRQs manually. Again, no dice... Since then I have installed other cards (DVD decoder and TV tuner) and they each used the free IRQs without a hitch.

Why won't the Linksys card or the SB16 Emlationdo the same thing and switch to a free IRQ instead of conflicting? Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks in advance,
Eric

Just go into the sb16 settings in the device mananger and check allow ltp interupt sharing unless your one of these freaks that has to print out documents and play dos based games at the same time.
