IRQ under XP....

hi folks:

Just an ignorant question:

Why do most of my devices (all exept the IDE controller) share one IRQ (namely IRQ9)??

I have the video card, sound card, RAID card and ACPI manager all under IRQ 9. is this normal?

it doesn't happed under Win 98 SE, where I have each device with its own IRQ (dual booting to win 98 se / win xp)

thanks for your help....

Very normal, PCI is actually designed to allow this. XP just does a better job of doing it than the 9x operating system, in theory freeing up more IRQ's for legacy devices.
