IRQ problem

My friend has got an IRQ problem in WinXP and I cannot remember the solution. When he starts his computer it says <FONT color=#000000 size=2>IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, and when it boots there's some devices missing, most often the sound card. Yeah, I know it's a common problem and I really ought to know the solution 😱</FONT>

I searched on IRQL and EQUAL. Not all of those will answer the question Im sure, but one of them should. Good luck.
