Got a new motherboard with pent 4 chip.....got new sound card - phillips / got new video card - geforce / they are sharing the same IRQ settings, causeing things to lock up now and again...every time i start windows....only really happens when I open programs...sometimes it works other times it takes 2 or 3 programs to open before it locks up...but it locks up non the less.....I've tried to set my irq in the BIOS...what does Reserved mean besides moving everyting to another IRQ? And if Reserved means what I think it should, how do I reserve that IRQ for that device?
anyway, ive change alot of things in system properties....and in Bios, back and forth back and forth, and nothing is letting me change the IRQ for eithe rthe video card or the sound card. I have to get one of them off of IRQ 11!!! I believe it should be the sound, cuz isnt default for soundcard on IRQ 5?
anyway, the video card DOES need a IRQ address otherwise it doesnt work, the system doesn't even load, it just resets itself and starts up again.
