I just built my new system. If I insert a card into one of the first 3 pci slots, the AGP video card (Aopen Geforce3 Ti200) doesn't work. The screen will continue to say "No Video" and the system will not beep even though it does power up. I put my ethernet card in slot 4 and everything seems OK.

Furthermore, my video card seems to not run the "bubble demo" like it should. This demo worked on my old Geforce2 MX200 (PCI nonetheless) so why not on my Geforce3?

I asked the retailer if it was the video card. They said I probably have an IRQ problem. I haven't gotten a chance to look at my machine yet since I'm still at work so I don't know if this is true or not.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it my card, my motherboard, both?

I'd appreciate it greatly if anyone can help

He's probably right. You should never use the first pci slot (closest to AGP) if you can help it, as it shares an IRQ with the AGP slot. Win2k uses virtual IRQ's or something like that, but in Win98 you can set which slots use which IRQ in the BIOS. Your manual should tell you which slots share which IRQ's, and you can re-position accordingly based on that info.
