My specs
Athlon 550 Slot A
HP Propietory but basically a Asus K7M (AMD 750 Northbridge/VIA 686 southbridge) (1AGP 5PCI 0 ISA)
20HDD/CDRW/DVD/
RealTek NIC PCI
Radeon DDR AGP
Conexant Riptide Audio/56K fax modem Combo Card.
IRQ 9 is used by ALL the the followind devices
-Microsoft ACPI Compliant System
-Conexant 56 Modem (PCI 2)
-Riptide Audio Driver (PCI 2)
-Radeon DDR (AGP)
-Realtek NIC (PCI 5)
-VIA USB UHC
Now I dont Have any sound because there are so many devices, is there anyway I can free up an IRQ so I can have sound. I mean I have NOTHING else on this machine except the usual. Why is only 1 IRQ is used to control ALL these devices.
I checked the BIOS and all the IRQ are Available, Printer port is EPP (so not to take up an IRQ) but I dont know why Windows 2000 Pro puts all these devices under a single IRQ. I have a similar machine and that one uses IRQ 9/10/11. Anyone can help?? Thanks.
