I know certain Irqs are used for certain devices. I had a list and can not remember them for surely.
My Irq 11 is used to 4 devices:
Vid Card [geforce 2 gts]
sound card [sb live]
nic card
pci to usb...

Could some one list what the irqs should be and which ones are "general use"
I am pretty sure 10 and 12 are also "general use" which are unused by any device on this pc

any one help?

I would wrorry, it sounds like you have ACPI enabled. It tends to do that to your irqs, but it generally dosn't cause any problems.

Unless you think the conflicts are causing crashes I would leave them alone.

My op system is Windows 2k. I have been having problems with some game lock-ups, which could be from the game itself [tribes 2 is buggy], or my Detinator 21.83. Or even bugs with my Ali Magik 1 chipset. I was going to try and move the Sound Card and Video Card is possible, see if that helps. What do you guys think? Here is some info...
On Amd's site they have Irq listings, which I found:

IRQ 0 System- System Timer
IRQ 1 System- Keyboard
IRQ 2 System- Cascadeable PIC (programmable interrupt controller), controls IRQ 8-15
IRQ 3 System- Serial Port (COM 2 and COM4)
IRQ 4 System - Serial Port (COM 1 and COM3)
IRQ 5 Available- General Adapter Use
IRQ 6 System- Diskette Controller
IRQ 7 System- Printer 1
IRQ 8 System- CMOS Real-time clock
IRQ 9 Available- General Adapter Use
IRQ 10 Available- General Adapter Use
IRQ 11 Available- General Adapter Use
IRQ 12 System- Mouse Port
IRQ 13 System- Math Co-processor (even though this is built into the CPU, it still uses an IRQ)
IRQ 14 System- Hard Disk Controller
IRQ 15 Available- General Adapter Use

Here is what is listed on my pc for general adapter use:
9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
11 Geforce 2 GTS [vid card]
11 ALi PCI to USB Open Host
11 Netgear [Nic]
11 Creative Sb Live! [sound card]
15 Secondary IDE Channel [cdrw & dvd-rom]

Irq 5 & 10 seems to be unused...
I tried to go ahead and change the Vid Card or Sound Card to Irq 5/10. Went to device manager, went to the place to make the changes, but the option to change it was "greyed" out. btw I was loged in as Admin...

Any Ideas? Leave it? How am I able to make these changes?

You can't control the IRQ's when ACPI is enabled :) hence why it is grayed out. ACPI pulls some magic behind the scenes to give your computer somthing like 128 virtual irqs.

If you check you motherboard manual you will probably see a table which lists which PCI slots share IRQ with other PCI slots (and AGP, ANR, etc). Put your sound card into a slot which isn't shared (generally slot 2 isn't shared), Creative cards can be very fussy about sharing a IRQ. If you can put all the other cards into non shared slots as well.
