Just wondering if anyone else has ran int this problem.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
P/C:My Build as follows
Mobo: Asus M3N78-VM
CPU: Anthlon X2 6400 302Ghz Dual Core
Memory: 8Gig DDR2 6400
Sound Card: Rocketfish 5.1 (PCI)
Video card: Sparkle 8400GS (PCIe 16)

Sound card worked great, originally installed it because O/B sound produced alot of popping through speakers etc. Recently installed the new video card as I was often getting screen freezes and the BSOD while watching DVD's or HULU etc. IT too works well and ended all those problems with its own 1Gig of memory. The problem is, while installed, the video card causes the sound card not to produce any sound at all. The Sound card is still recognized in Device Manager as "working properly". When I remove the Video card, the sound card, once again works like a champ. The Sound card has an assigned IRQ (19) the video card is at IRQ 20. Any thoughts?

BTW, I have tried un-installing and re-installing both cards and related software, one at a time and together. Changed BIOS settings. Plug and Play on and off. in all cases. HELP!

Can you move the Sound Card to another slot?

That would hopefully separate the IRQ's a bit more.

I've seen where the Video card and first slot share IRQ's and cause problems, but you have different IRQ's so something's a bit odd here.

OnBoard Sound is disabled in BIOS - right?

Also check to see if anything else is sharing either of those two IRQ's.

Change the active/default audio device from the HD/HDMI controller on the graphics card to your sound card.
