It's amusing, really. When one examines the so-called "sex" charges against him what you find is that the Swedes have invented the crime of causing a woman to decide you scorned her after the fact.

That is, there is no dispute that the sexual conduct Assange engaged in was consensual at the time it occurred with either woman. Both women have admitted that they consented at the time of the encounter and in the case of the second woman he slept with she was so "horrified" that she actually went out to buy oatmeal and juice for breakfast afterward and cooked it for them!

Never mind that the evidence appears to show that the second woman (at least) was the one who did the soliciting for the encounter - that is, she pursued Assange - not the other way around.

But one - and perhaps both women - claimed after discovering that the other had also slept with Assange that they wished to withdraw consent retroactively to the terms of their encounters with him.

This, of course, squares exactly with the McKinnon and other radical lefty feminist viewpoint that "all sex is ****" and "all persons in possession of a penis are rapists."

This particular viewpoint is put forward as "empowerment" of women but in fact is the infantilism of women - that is, it amounts to promotion of the belief that women are incapable of informed consent and making their own decisions - and being responsible for them. Somehow, the mere presence of a penis in a room makes a woman incapable of deciding whether she would like to have sex with the possessor of that penis. Since men are deemed "animals" by such a position the only entity left to decide when a woman has been ****d is, of course, the all-powerful and all-knowing nanny government.

This sort of nonsense fits directly in with the radical lefty agenda that derogates both men and women, along with the institution of the family. The amusing - and ironic - part of this is that most of Assange's greatest boosters have been the radical left, especially here in America, who hold that we're a bunch of "butchers" through our engagement of war in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Let me remind everyone that despite the Assange claim that Wikileaks is a "scientific reporter" they presented the bald claim that American GIs fired on unarmed civilians - but an examination of the so-called "camera" in the video they released revealed this frame, which I isolated and reproduced at the time:

I don't know. It's odd but there's not a clear story about these sexual allegations yet. Some people are saying that rape is having sex without a condom which most people would agree is ridiculous. I've read elsewhere that the allegations are that he molested her while she was asleep (which is a little shady but not horrible) to the girl told him to stop and he didn't (which is rape). I'm not convinced he's a rapist and I'm not convinced he's the angel all the wikileaks supporters are making him out to be. Time will tell. One thing that is ironic is that all his mud is being dragged out.

Everyone pretty much knows these rape charges are just tools to attack Assange/Wikileaks.

Yes because you know so much about him... I'm tired of each side jumping to conclusions. We don't know what he did in terms of the sexual offenses. But feel free to have your tinfoil hats on.

I don't know what Swedes think of their justice system in this case, but from afar it all seems rotten.

- Consensual sex without a condom is rape now?
- some prosecutor brought these charges.
- some other prosecutor dismissed them
- after some pressure, some other prosecutor then brought them out again, sent out a world-wide warrant.
- the prosecutor refuses to speak to Assange's lawyer.

So on the condom thing, I can see that maybe, if the law was clearly defined prior to this encounter that sex without a condom was rape, and he had sex with them without a condom, then ok I guess it's rape. It's really not, but I guess it would be illegal.

But withdrawing consent after the fact, if true, is unsupportable by any twisting of logical thought.
