Maryland is below the Mason Dixon, brutha. (it is, in fact, the northern border).

Though, using the mule vs. horse cart-pulling metric that is mentioned in that article I linked, I am most likely living amonsgt yankees in that perspective. :(

full disclosure: I did not know this until my final year of college edumation, when my then-roommate, a Maryland native, informed me of this after I called him a filthy Yankee.

And, being a product of 16-17 years of NC public education, that shouldn't be surprising, either. :D

MD isn't very southern. I prefer the term mid Atlantic. Not quite south, not quite north, and water oriented.
