Nick Fury is black in the Ultimates universe, and modeled after Samuel L. Jackson (Ultimate Nick Fury in the comics looks exactly like SLJ).

The Iron Man movie, however, is clearly set in the 616 (normal) universe. Marvel is taking a few liberties with their apparently new movie universe, heh. Seems like they mashed together 616 & Ultimates + randomly shift around in continuity.

Everything in the after credit scene will be made cleared if you google for Ultimate Marvel Universe time line. Ultimate Avengers work for the government under Nick Fury's command. Giant Man, The Wasp, Cap'n America, Thor, and Iron Man.

I saw it last night and loved it over all.

My only complaint would be that there's only really one big fight at the end and I wish there were more on that scale throughout the movie.

Well worth the $10 a ticket to see it IMO.

Saw it this afternoon and I got really bored with it really quickly, even though there was a backstory to the first Iron Man they could've skipped a few scenes and got some of the fights closer.

I really liked it. The wife and I saw it last night. Robert Downey Jr. really did great. I loved his interaction with the robots.

Saw it and enjoyed it. I like how it got all "techie" with the building of cool stuff and not just all action.

BTW, is there anything hotter than Audi S5/R8 + Gwyneth Paltrow?

Big thumbs up to Audi for those product placements!

Saw it yesterday. Definitely the best comic book movie yet (and I include Batman Begins in that statement).

Iron Man 2 better come out within another 12 months. This movie was the development and birth of Iron Man. Iron Man 2 better have 3 hours of non stop action. Have Michael Bay Co-Direct it.

Iron Man is tentatively scheduled for April, 2010. Robert Downey Jr. has to wear the suit again as early as 9 months from now.

Some questions:

1. The audio was muffled and fucked up in the theater. What was the reason for the dude installing a core in Stark's chest in the first place? It's holding the shrapnels? I don't know how this part is trying to be realistic.

2. Does Stark's villain actually count as War Machine? I think he has to. In the movie franchise, I think it would be awfully redundant in the sequel to feature another villain that's the 'real' war machine.

1) Yes it was holding the shrapnel

2) No it was not war machine.

PS. the thread says no spoilers...

LOL keep Michael Bay far away from this series.
