How toxic is it?
How can it be fixed?

thats daft, unless you've actually got chunks of iron oxide in it, it's GOOD for you ;)

your body does use iron, some times they wont let you give blood if your iron is low

but too much is a bad thing

You can buy a filter for iron. There are several options... you can buy one large one that filters an entire house or do spot filters on the shower and a sink or two. Too little iron is bad for you but too much can poison you.
