Looks like a double header. Flay vs. Morimoto 2 will be on at 10 it seems... should be good.

Funny how serious this show gets, with the horses and everything in the beguinning :D

Isn't it annoying watching the intro and unncessary fancy stuff? And I just CAN'T STANDS that guy going "quizon!" every 10 seconds. UGH! The concept of judging annoys me too.

Otherwise a good show.

Its awesome. I'm 17 and I'm not even into cooking all that much and I love the show.

(edit:

<< "quizon!" >>

He actually says Fukui-san, though it does very much sound like quizon ;)

Actually, he's saying "Fukui-san" as a courtesy before he cuts in.

I like Kaga's outfit in the first battle - he looks like an ugly drag queen - in other words, classic!

Flay's going to get his butt handed to him by Morimoto.

Ah, them Japanese and their courtesy..

I'm sure glad I'm not Japanese..and I'm sure the Japanese feel the same way too.

I noticed the announcer made it sound like Sakai was the more difficult IC to beat - he's supposedly the best of the ICs, but I think you're right - Morimoto would have smeared him. I think I've seen him lose twice.

Hey Ameesh, I saw an interview with Flay the other day (hey, I rhyme) and he said the blonde from the last battle isn't his girlfriend anymore (but I think he's got another). He was sort of embarrassed at the amount of time she was on-camera in the repeated show now that he's seeing someone else.

My thoughts exactly. I'm watching (well, hearing) it right now :D

I only watch for the bad overdubbing of the voices. Gotta love it when everything anyone says is punctuated with laughing - ha-ha-ha ha ha!

Argh, I missed the last fifteen minutes of it - I saw the judges taste Flay's dishes - is Guyver right about who won? Either Flay was going to win it no matter what or Morimoto had some major problems, because I didn't think his stuff seemed that good.

And of course he had to be crass and throw the cutting board and jump on the counter, since Morimoto complained about him jumping on the cutting board last time.

*Edit - Uber, that's my favorite part too - there's always got to be one actress who laughs like an idiot at everything, covers her mouth while she's eating and says something like, "Oh, this really makes my mouth happy - my taste buds are dancing right now!" while giggling.

Do they hold fortune tellers in some high regard? Why is that fortune teller woman always one of the judges? I like Kishi the food critic better.

The judges seemed to like Morimoto's dishes ALOT more but he lost. It was rigged. ;) In fact I don't think I ever heard the judges "ooohh and ahhhh" so much before.

True, I thought for sure Flay was going to lose. Flay was kind of a boor, but I was still rooting for him. And now I'm freaking hungry too. :)

Spoiler: If this hasnt been on where you live yet....

I was surprised by the voting. Both time the judges seemed to like the Iron Chef's food better, yet the challenger won both.

IMHO, Bobby's dishes looked better and it seemed he put more work into them. Also he was really stretching the traditional, which seemed to be a theme of the show. Morimoto doing drunken lobsters was just too easy, even if it is very good. You dont need to be a great chef to soak lobsters in Sake for 30 minutes and then cook them (i think this also hurt Sakai with snapper and clam dish, it was too simple for an Iron Chef). The same with his sashimi dish. The soup and the fried sushi was inventive, IMHO all of his dishes should have shown that inventiveness.

***SPOILER ALERT***

I don't know, it did seem like it was rigged.

The judges seemed to like IC's dishes a LOT more.

Why would they do this? They recognized the HUGE popularity of the Morimoto v. Flay competition, and now they can have ANOTHER rematch at a later date to break the tie and see once and for all WHOSE CUISINE REIGNS SUPREME. ;)
