IRIX/SGI Emulator?

I'm just wondering if any of you know of a IRIX or SGI emulator. I'm really not sure which one is the machine, and which is the opearting system...But I do some research and am going to be living futher away from the physical location. Since i don't have a car, things would be a lot of more convienent if I could download the files I need to work on from the a server and then work on them at home. However, the programs for the specific task I use run on the IRIX/SGI big blue turquoise machine that I use.

Is there some kind of emulator that will allow me to emulator either the operating system enviorment (a la wine), or the physical machine?

Uh I don't think you can really emulate a SGI machine. For that matter I don't know of a way to run IRIX on anything but a SGI machine. You'd be better off trying to find a used Octane box on eBay. SGI boxes are pretty specialized so that they can move video & audio data rapidly. Even if you could emulate one (and I still doubt that you can) it would be pretty slow.
