iRiver vs. iPod

I have $399 to buy an MP3 Player. Which one should I get:

iRiver or 20GB iPod

Help me decide please! I appreciate it!

i'd go for the iriver just because i'm such a huge iriver fan. their ihp is soooo coool. it can even do voice recording. althought research mini-ipods before u make a decision

ipod all the way. the iriver hd player is kind of nice for a first effort, but it is a first effort. its interface and size are deficient when compared to ipods polish. when dealing with a couple hundred dollars and thousands of songs, interface and polish matter.

what don't you like about the iriver interface? it works great for me.

Although most people here would choose the ipod, I'd buy the iriver if I had the money

what don't you like about the iriver interface? it works great for me.

i don't like the windows software for the IFP's.

it's not very robust or versatile.

i haven't dealt with that software, but for ihps, it's just windows explorer. the thing shows up as a drive.

ifp software got upgraded, its a drive now too

actually the ihp 120 can be had for 334. and he specifically stated his budget was 399.

I :heart: my iPod. However, the iRiver looks pretty good too. It's probably the only other hdd based mp3 player I'd even consider at this point. Decide which suits you best, then flip a coin 😉
