too bad I can't afford $200 for it :( pretty damn cool though.

how good would the sound be if you used a cassette adapter for a car?

i actually don't mind... backwards compatibilty, and the media is cheaper. from what i've read the anti-skip is good enough.

Sounds awesome featurewise (and even the price is nice for what you get) but does anyone know how reliable/sturdy it may be? I don't want it falling apart or having problems a couple months down the line and I haven't seen any reviews that cover this.

Well, ALL RioVolt players are rebranded Iriver drives, so I think they're pretty solid.

i think cnet would have noted it if there was a problem... they're usually pretty good about noting the "feel" of a product when there's a problem, case in point: minolta dimage 7.

Bringing this thread from the dead, you can get the Aiwa Mp3Cd player from amazon for about $60 bucks. But I'm leaning towards this player because reviews say it's the best out there. Any opinions either way? Thanks.

i'm a tad disappointed in the battery life, but i think this is becuase it's an mp3 cd player and i'm coming from a normal cd player with a confirmed battery life of 72 hours. battery life with the battery pack is about 20 hours, about 10 without.

as far as mp3 cd players go, i highly recommend the slimx... the remote simply kicks ass, sound is great, it's small....
