iRiver iFP MP3 player owners: Rechargeable battery question

I have an iRiver iFP-100 series MP3 player, and have found my Nexcell and Sony NiMH rechargeable AA batteries to fit too snugly, making it a major pain in the butt to get out. Standard alkaline AA batteries easily slide out of the battery compartment without a struggle.

Are there any NiMH rechargeable AA batteries that are the same size as a typical alkaline AA battery? NiMH AA batteries seem to be a problem wherever alkaline AA batteries are already a snug fit.

PS The iFP is the best MP3 player I've ever owned! Great design both hardware and software, excellent sound quality, and frequent updates with cool, new features.

i use nicd, but you just shake it around until it comes out. just watch where you "shakethrow" it

Haha, "shakethrow." 😛 Like the term.

My NiMHs still don't come out all that easily even with a couple hard shakes. And my main concern is the flimsy battery lid that flaps around when I do this. Sooner or later, I feel like I'm going to break it off.
