IrDA Pinout on a Motherboard?

I'm still learning the ins and outs of the my new board -- there's this mystery pinout in the lower right corner of the board and it's labeled "IrDA" (also, something related to "IrDA" shows up in the Windows device manager).

This is something related to infrared I'm guessing? What can I connect to this? Or is this one of those motherboard features that no one uses but board makers feel compelled to include anyway? An IR remote control to turn the system on and off would be kind of interesting...

IrDA transceivers connect here. The header isn't standardized, and the transceiver eyes are rarely found on retail shelves.

This is more of a system builder OEM option, like if you design this mainboard into a media PC, you include the IR eye into the case front and connect it to that header.
