irc using a netgear router?

I can't access any mirc servers now that I put my computer behind the netgear router. It says that I need to install ident and Closing Link ..... 255.255.255.255 How do I set up ident?

Foward port 113 in the router in menu 15 or using the web interface.

what do you mean by forwarding port 113?

In your web browser goto 192.168.0.1 and enter user admin and password 1234. Then go find where you can setup port fowarding or SUA and type in port 113 (the port Ident uses, and foward to the internal ip of your computer 192.168.0.2 (most likely)).

I actually just did that two nights ago...like the other people said, forward port 113 to your computer's IP (192.168.0.2 if it's the first port, unless you specified otherwise), using http://192.168.0.1, and then advanced --> ports, where you can specify numerous new ports to be used, and where the packets from that port should be sent.

Now that I have the router, my sister will never touch my computer again. mwahahahahhaha.

You may also have to download the latest firmware fot the router. Go to Netgear's site and they will point you in the right direction.
