I don't "hang" there for chatting & social purposes if that's what you're asking. It does have some other purposes though. Did you know you can download mp3s of cds that you already own. Or games and apps that you just want to try before you want to buy them? Not to mention the pornographic material that you are getting only because you just want to show your friends. ;)

I knew there was a reason that stuff was crowding my HD ;)

In all honesty, the only reason why I found out that MIRC even existed is because an app that I have - Serials2000 - requires that you have to update the database through IRC.

So, I jumped through all the hoops and I still can't figure out how to get the updates package. I finally figured out that you have to find a particular "ops" at a certain channel. When they are there you're supposed to catch their attention by typing a certain command and then they are supposed to send you the updates via zip file to your email address.

I think.

Anyways, looks somewhat interesting although i've never tried ICQ and the rest.

Same here. I never chat on IRC but I do use it for other purposes. I really love trying out those software that I evaluate for 24hrs and decide whether or not I should buy it or just delete it. :D
