Where did that come from? I've never used that name before, here or anywhere else.

I wasn't trying to inject myself into your debate, i was just providing data for you to work with.

And the following site actually has a more thorough and recent breakdown (and a piechart... mmmm, PIE!)
http://www.socrata.com/dataset...n-By-Country/xjiz-z25n

Afghanistan is a shame in a lot of ways. After 9/11 we had an opportunity to reach out and gain support from many countries including what was ironically the best chance for a stable democracy, Iran.

If we had called for support in defeating Al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan we would have gotten it. We were hurting for intel on the ground because Clinton had pretty much gutted that aspect of the intel community. Unfortunately, Rumsfeld was of the same mind, because he considered that we were so technologically superior we didn't need manpower, and intel came in the form of satellite data.

What the professionals wanted to do was engage the Taliban with both, and with the cooperation of what could have been allies, we might have been successful.

France has a decent intel service, and were on better terms with those in Afghanistan than we were. We didn't want to get into the situation the Russians did.

Well, spilt milk and all. I fear that the Taliban will eventually recapture Afghanistan, as their current leader was never in touch with his own public, and there is a lot of support for the Taliban in the foothills. We will never recapture the momentum we had, and we alienated just about everyone with Iraq.

Come to think about, its been a while since this forum had any posts from either palehorse or JOS. And in fairness to both, its unfair to read anything into that lack of recent posts.

As for Hayabusa Rider, we are talking a moderator with access to user data a smuck like me does not have or want. And if ole Hayabusa Rider says someone is not paleshorse, I believe him far more than someone with a mere doubt.

I'll have to reply later as I don't have real time right now, but, he's not palehorse anymore than you're JOS.
