The pipeline is getting crushed almost daily from sabotuers. The problem is that the sabotage is from the inside of the oil industry, not from reckless attacks. If you have been tracking the regular occurences then you'll notice the pipeline bursts are being caused from the inside of the pipe, not the outside of it. This dirty little secret is getting little attention by the press. Its time that they start monitoring the access points to find out who is in on the plot to keep it shut down.

Nope, I cannot prove it or claim facts obviously since I'm 9300 miles away. I had to go by CNN's tele reports. ;)

I've got a solution for the Bush Regime's abominable job creation record . . . fire all the Iraqi oil industry workers and send over our unemployed.

Can someone find a reference for this? Doesn't make any sense to me at all. I wouldn't doubt that there are people working in the industry that are aiding or actually doing sabotage. But what would that have to do with bursts caused from inside the pipe? Are you saying someone is actually planting explosives inside a flowing oil pipeline? I seriously doubt this in that it would be incredibly difficult and would not be any more effective in damaging the pipe than an eternal explosion.

I don't know where the attacks are originating from but I read a report yesterday or the day before about the northern pipeline being shut down again after an explosion and a parallel pipeline being shut down after rupturing and burning from the heat of the first pipeline fire.

Even under best conditions the Iraqi oil industry won't be producing enough oil to turn a significant profit for five years according to industry estimates.

And that is without any further pipeline incidents.

Well, Roast my Toast. Thanks BobDN. I didn't know Al Jazeera had gotten an English web sit up. Thanks for the link.

You're welcome Whitling. It's been up for a couple of weeks now.

I'd also like to point out for those who will undoubtedly criticize the content of Al Jazeera's report that I used Forbes.com for corroboration.
