One of Iraq's top nuclear scientists has surrendered, the US said last night, in another bonus for the coalition as it attempts to locate Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction.

The surrender of Jaffar al Jaffar followed that of Saddam's most senior scientific adviser, Lt Gen Amer al-Saadi, in Baghdad over the weekend. Jaffar had turned himself in over the past few days in Iraq, a US official announced yesterday on condition of anonymity.

I guess this means there was a nuclear program.

Well...he led the nuclear program for nearly two decades.

MSNBC Article has this, too:

On Saturday, Saddam?s science adviser surrendered to U.S. military authorities, insisting that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and that the U.S.-led war was unjustified. Lt. Gen. Amer al-Saadi became the first Saddam regime figure known to have been taken alive by U.S. forces.

Of course he'd say that to the German news crew that filmed his surrender.
What he tells interogators behind closed doors is more important.

Allow me to give you a glimpse inside his mind while he's speaking to reporters:

You see Saddam, if you are still alive (or either of your hell-spawn progeny) I have not betrayed you...please don't kill my family. Oh I hope he sees this...

Ding Ding Ding..

WE HAVE A WINNER

That is exactly what is happening. He will strike a deal for protection and US citizenship or something and then tell us everything we want to hear.. hopefully

He says "I knew nothing" (think Schultz from Hogan's Heroes), of course he can keep saying that publicly so it doesn't look like: A. He was lying to the UN B: He sold out Saddam. As long as he privately tells us where to find things we will be more than happy to verify his claims of personal innocence and lack of intimate knowledge.
