i've received about 30 pieces of spam for this, if that helps.

couple dozen more and you could fashion a deck out of the spam.

I got my cards yesterday. Very nice :) I emailed them last week, concerned about my order. The next day I got a polite email, saying they were way overloaded and it would take about a week for the cards to come. They must have sent next-day air, because I received it the day after it shipped.

I ordered a deck from GreatUSAFlags.com, and the cards are crap. I then turned around and ordered from a slightly more expensive Gagsplus.com The gagsplus cards came plastic wrappped and looked of much better quality than the ones from Greatusaflags. Both companies have had a huge amount of orders and are waiting on the cards to be printed themselves.

Liberty.com - featured on CNN I don't think Greatusaflags is producing their own cards.

Either way both Gagsplus.com and GreatUSAFlags.comare doing very well I am sure.

I got my cards a week ago from greatUSAflags.com. I am satisfied with the 4 decks of cards I recieved. They are hoyle cards, just like the ones handed out the the military in Iraq. Even the box for them looks the same.

Here is a comparision of the two decks I have received

Compare Iraq Decks

The one of the left is made by Liberty Playing Card Company in Texas produced for Gagsplus.com
The one of the right is from Hoyle/GreatUSAflags.com

Just so you can see a difference, the cards are similar, but different I guess.

Anyway, a great collector's item. I plan on getting a poster and hanging it on my wall.

Well, I never purchased any of those cards and I'm getting a ton of spam ads in my Yahoo account. All spammers must die!

For what it is worth, I saw a report on the news that GreatUSAFlags is the only authorized/supported retailler of the cards by the military, and they use their profits to help vets, etc, whereas other companies are pocketing the cash... Im to much a wuss to go to war, but I certainly respect those that have gone to protect me. Buy the ones that help the vets!

That sounds like a lot of PR crap. Exactly how much of the profit is going to help the vets?

And, for comparitive purposes, how much are they spending on the spam campaign?

The Hoyle cards are made here in Cincinnati by US Playing Cards. USPC has been in business for more than 130 years here, and produces fine quality materials. USPC and Carta Mundi (makes Magic the Gathering, and almost everything used in Europe) are the only card manufacturers I would consider for use. They are significantly involved in the community, and make a great contribution to our city, state and country. I cannot say whether they are redirecting any profits to any military NPOs but I am certain that there is no intellectual property issue. The quality of the cards you receive is based on the quality that is ordered by the company placing it. In all likelyhood, GreatFlagsUSA ordered a run after obtaining a copy of the cards from a returning military person. At that time, decided that it would be a decent seller, but did not know what to expect - or simply did not have the initial funding to order a thicker and higher quality card stock. Since that time, I am sure the money grab is on. So, just fyi for those who are interested. Oh, and since the images on the cards are probably owned by the United States government, YOU can probably use it to order a batch of cards yourself and sell. If you can support a run of 10k decks, USPC would probably oblige you =).

I received my 8 packs a few weeks ago. They were shipped in a thinly padded envelope. The envelope had a tear in it, but nothing was ripped inside. However, almost all of the decks were dented in one way or another. Mostly the corners were pushed in or the sides were creased. Like everyone else, I purchased them to collect. These were not in collectable form.

I contacted them about the problem. I offered to ship them back at my expense if they shipped 8 new packs, properly packed, back to me at their expense. They said to send them my phone number so we could work something out. So I did. Then I waited and waited. I sent the phone number again. Then I waited and waited. Then I got an email offer to buy more crushed merchandise. That got me angry. I sent one final email explaining the situation. Then I waited and waited. No reply yet. Great customer service (NOT)!

So, if you want cards to collect, ones in that arrive in good condition, don't get them at GreatUSAFlags.com. I'm going to order 8 packs of the Liberty cards from Gagsplus.com. I'll give the Hoyle cards to my kids to use.

My son just got back from Iraq, today, and he showed me the cards the Marines were issued. They are the Liberty cards!
