Iraqi Civilian Deaths?

There's probably no way to know. Just remember how long it took before we knew how many died in the WTC, and that was just one building. We're only a few days into this and the destruction has been much more widespread.

<< The Iraqi information minister, Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf, claimed that 77 civilians had been killed and 366 wounded in Basra, mainly by cluster bombs.

Al-Jazeera, an influential channel seen throughout the Arab world, put the number of civilian dead at 50. >>

Only in Basra I guess, but I don't trust the "Iraqi information minister" any more than you do. al-Jazeera on the other hand, maybe.

I doubt it's much or else the apologist would've been all over it.

If it goes up and up and up I would hope that it wasn't just the "apologists" as you call them - "all over it".

The Red Cross reported that the two main hospitals in Baghdad had seen three civilian wounded since the beginning of the bombing, and only one had died.

I've seen more than 3 wounded on the news. Thats with the reporters right in there filming stuff I really didn't want to see. Are those numbers up to date?

Actually that's useful as an upper limit, i.e. at most 77 killed in Basra, and probably much fewer.
