A key member of Saddam Hussein's routed government has reportedly given himself up to United States forces. Lt Gen Amir al-Saadi, a special adviser who oversaw Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programmes, turned himself in peacefully to US forces in Baghdad, according to the ZDF broadcaster in Germany. It said al-Saadi had asked it to send a television crew to witness his surrender for his own safety.

I am sure there will be lots of stuff found soon.

ZDF said al-Saadi left his Baghdad home with his German-born wife Helga and surrendered to a U.S. officer, who escorted him away. Al-Saadi also granted the network an interview, and told its reporter that he had no information about other members of the dictatorial regime -- including Saddam Hussein -- and insisted, as he had during the inspections regimen, that Iraq has no weapons of mass destruction.

I believe he stated the same thing he did at the UN, that Iraq had no BANNED weapons, to the best of his knowledge. Maybe he didn't know about the Al Samouds or the seersucker that hit Kuwait....

obviously he's trying to bargain with the coalition for whatever info he's hiding. He'll probably spit out the info once the coalition promise him a safe place to hide and $10 million to spend the rest of his life in luxury.
