President Saddam Hussein vowed today to "break the neck" of the US, saying Washington would pay a high price if it attacked Iraq.
My main concern is Iraq possibly using chemical or biological weapons on our troops in a last ditch effort to inflict as much damage possible and I have a feeling there will be more casualties than the last Gulf War. Hopefully arrogance and complacency has been beat out of our troops and military planner's heads.
I really don't think the Iraqi generals would go through with an order to use chemical or biological weapons against U.S. troops. Doing so would almost assuredly mean we would use nuclear weapons against them.
This is all great if you are going to be there and taking that risk personally... are they going to use everything they got? what would you do if someone invaded the US?
Sometimes you forget that the people of irak does not view you as the great savior but as the great satan that destroys what they have built up...
Sometimes you just forget to think...
The Iraqi people may think that of us but it's only because they don't know any better. Just like the Japanese fed their citizens lies about us during WWII and had them convinced we were murderous baby eaters. The Japanese were so brain washed that women and children jumped off cliffs on Iwo Jima rather than risk being "captured" by U.S. forces. It's chilling to watch old men, women, children, and women with babies in their arms jump to their death because they were so brainwashed. I would imagine that some in Iraq feel the same way due to their government feeding them lies about the U.S. Won't they be surprised when we come in, run out the dictatorship, free them, feed them, build them schools and hospitals, and generally make Iraq a better place. That's the difference between the U.S. and the past superpowers of the world. We don't go to war in order to conquer or build empires, we do it to protect ourselves, and for just causes in the world. Whenever we defeat a country we rebuild them afterward and give them a better and more free life.
