Iraq was better off with Saddam

I know, I know, liberals are going to jump in here and call me a troll, a noob, ask which banned member I am, the usual attack routine. So before I begin, let me state that I'm not in favor of the Iraq war. I do agree that it was a huge waste of resources that could have been better used elsewhere, fighting direct terrorists (instead of vague references to how Saddam's cousin's, friend's, father's ex-roommate was supporting terrorists) or used on any number of internal issues.

That out of the way, there seems to be a general sentiment coming from the left that the current situation in Iraq is directly the fault of Bush and his puppet-masters.

There is definitely culpability on the part of this administration, but the left always seems to leave out the fact that these attacks on civilian are DIRECTLY attributable to violent Muslims extremists. Rather than lay the blame where it belongs and removing these "insurgents" from the face of the earth, the anti-Bush crowd seems to feel that the only answer is to oust Bush and withdraw from Iraq.

I'll put forward a wild, though fairly accurate IMHO, analogy.

Operation American Freedom

Citizens in the US are more divided than ever. The current administration has driven a wedge between two vastly opposed political groups. Things are heated, but being a relatively enlightened society, acts of violence are rare.

Kerry supporters have decided that the current administration has to be overthrown, peacefully of course, and being what they call Operation American Freedom. The goal is to free the US from the rule of a corrupt president. They fight the Republicans in court so that they can't disenfranchise voters. They promote ad campaigns to get minorities and young people to vote. On November 2, Kerry handily beats Bush at the polls and is elected president.

Republicans, being the violent people they are, fight back. This is no longer a peaceful disagreement; they start killing innocents left and right. Civilians are afraid to leave their houses because some crazed Bush supporter will gun them down.

Is that Kerry's fault? After all, things were peaceful until the Democrats ousted Bush from the presidency. If only Kerry hadn't contested the Bush administration at the polls, then things would be peaceful. Democrats wouldn?t be happy, but at least they wouldn?t be killed.

Moral of the story? Lay blame where it belongs.

Despite the heated political climate right now, the current chaos and dangerous conditions for civilians in Iraq is not the fault of the US, but of people hell-bent on destroying the US. People so evil they're willing to kill their own people, innocent Muslims, to get their way. Are those really people that we should give in to? Despite what you think of Bush and the Iraq war, you can?t deny that it has brought evil people out of the woodwork. Now that these cockroaches are out in the light, do we step on them so they can?t bother us anymore, or do we leave the room so these evil people can scurry back to where they came from only to come back another day?

One day you will understand how cause and effect works and that we all share responsibility for everything. Get beyond your black and white view of the world. It doesn't have to be either the US's fault or the Muslims fault. It's a mixture. Now, we don't control Muslims. So we should try to create our own faults. Even though there may be nuts out there in the Muslim world, we can't just give ourselves a free pass to misbehave too. Few people think the US is entirely to blame for everything. We just think we (should) have control over our government and that they are misbehaving.
