And yet we'll still try to find an excuse to go to war with them.

I'm thinking it may be too late for them now, the US's war testosterone is flowing and they need a release.

Well, Kofi Anan (sp?) just came on live and said he received a letter from the Iraqi government that they will allow weapons inspectors back in with no conditions. :)

they will probably want the rules from before, example the inspectors couldn't go into palaces and stuff, which Sadam has doubled since then -- more room to hide stuff. If that's the case, the US won't go for it

War games . . . self-gratification is almost like the real thing, except it's cheaper and doesn't require commitment.

Unless they allow the 50k marines and weapons inspectors and are allowed to go any where they choose I say you kill off the Iraq messenges and nuke the rest.
In other words, it's just a BS statement to delay the demise of Sadam.

Back up that statement with fact. Until then, it's a dumbass statement, sorry.

Dumbass statement or not, I tend to agree. I'm glad we don't have war for now though. I wouldn't want people to get chemical or biological weapons used on them.

I guess you didn't notice the large percentage of Americans in this thread that seem to think Iraq is full of crap and that we should nuke the country.

How many times since the end of the Gulf War have we seen Saddam do this. He says he will allow them in, let's them go a few places of his choice, then when they want to go somewhere good he tells them no and the whole process starts over again. I'll believe it when I see it........

They're trying to throw one past the Bush administration. Now, a UN resolution for a military action will be unlikely.

Huh? I guess I'd have to read all profiles to see that.
Number 1, the responses so far do not represent the american populace.
2. This is a new resolution. I was in agreement that if Saddam would not allow UN delagates to inspect, yes go to war.
3. IF this is true and Iraq allows the UN to inspect and he is found innocent of the charges levied against them, then they go their own peaceful way.

Personally, I think Saddam was playing a game with Bush. If Saddam built up all this hype surrounding the fact that he had WMD and delayed as much as possible a possible war with the united states, and then all of a sudden offering unconditional return of the weapons inspectors, it'd make bush and blair look weak.

If saddam really does go through with this (unconditionally) and the inspectors (reputable bunch) find no WMD, it'd make bush and blair look like total retards.
