Iraq: Jo Wilding in Fallujah (perspective from an observer)

I have a hard time believing this. He must work for Al Jazzera.

Jo Wilding is an Iraq-based British human rights campaigner, writer and trainee lawyer from Bristol, UK. 29-year old Wilding first came to Iraq in August 2001 with Voices in the Wilderness. Then she returned to Iraq as an independent observer in February 2003 and stayed for the month before the war and the first 11 days of the bombing as a human shield, before being expelled by the Iraqi foreign ministry as part of a purge of independent foreigners.

Currently inside Iraq, Wilding is taking part in Circus 2 Iraq, ?a small group of circus performers - fools, clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers and magicians - set up to? perform and give circus skills workshops to children [in Iraq] traumatized by sanctions, war and its aftermath.?

Her writings about Iraq and ordinary Iraqis were published in the Guardian, the New Zealand Herald, Counterpunch, Australian radio, and in Japan, Korea and Pakistan .

I?m outraged. We?re trying to get to a woman who?s giving birth without any medical attention, without electricity, in a city under siege, in a clearly marked ambulance, and you?re shooting at us. How dare you?

How dare you?

That's the most retarded piece of trash ever. HOW DARE YOU GO INTO FALLUJA, a war zone, and NOT expect to get shot!!! How do the Marines know if the ambulance isn't packed with explosives. How do they know it's not an ambush? Stupid journalists thinking they have a free pass everywhere. IT'S A FREAKING WAR ZONE for crying out loud.

I've heard my ex mention some idiotic soap opera called Passions. Your name fits with an idiotic statement like that.

.. or used to transport armed insurgents during a goddamned ceasefire.

An ambulance pulled up; three insurgents with rocket-propelled grenades (RPGS) poured out.

Good to know that not everyone here is a liberal monkey.

You can spot the liberal apologists a mile away; they break free from the circle and race to be the first one in threads where someone post something contrary to what Mother Jones has taught them to think....then lifers like to call you names. Quite amusing.

I know it sounds a bit cheesy, but I'm not on the side of any national group or religion or political doctrine. I'm just for non-violence and peace and I believe that international solidarity and direct action are the only ways that's going to be achieved.

I'm beginning to think that we need to get some loudspeakers, tell the woman and children of Fallujah to get out of town, then employ the services of several dozen B-52's to carpet bomb that city, That should quell the insurgency there quite nicely.

How about just loading up a plane full of porn mags, then dropping them over the city? Should make for an interesting reaction. Initially they'll be disgusted, but eventually they'll be fap'in away in the sunlight. It would be a much better way to westernize them, right?

I won't give it back, sir...name-calling is totally out of hand nowadays. Sure, I am a sarcastic pr*ck, but that's a whole different animal 🙂

I'm inclined to agree with you, people need to learn to be civil and not resort to name calling all the time.
