The noose tightens

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A top Bush administration official charged on Wednesday that Iraq provided some training in chemical weapons development to members of the al Qaeda organization blamed for the Sept. 11 attacks.

In a ratcheting up of the pressure against Iraq, national security adviser Condoleezza Rice said the information was obtained from some high-ranking detainees from the al Qaeda organization captured in the war on terrorism.

What top official? When we have facts we can act. When we have leaks, we can assume nothing. Its a political season. If we have irefutable evidence, then it should be made available to the UN and our nay saying allies. If it is more rehtoric, than screw it. The administration is on a benge blowing smoke up everyones skirt about Saddam this and Saddam that. If the freakin bastard is guilty and activly doing anything Bush has accused him of, then snuff him. But if the admin is fielding more spin and enuindo to keep the natives restless, watch your wallet and kick back to watch the show. Cuz thats what it seemsto be, alot of show and no substance.

The high ranking official was Rice. I am sure this information is being shared with the appropriate people.

Thing is that it doesn't really matter if detainees really leaked that information or not. That's debatable. What isn't debatable is that Saddam is a maniac who would kill every American if he could. Now, do we take him out before he takes us out, or sit and wait hoping that he doesn't manage to acquire weapons of mass destruction? Let me see....

Saddam likes one thing, power, if he attacked American he wouldn't have anybody to have power over

So you're suggesting that if Saddam attacked America, he would destroy America, and that Iraq is the second most powerful nation in the world? LMFAO!

I think he means that there wouldn't be any Iraqis left if he did that. Unless of course Iraqis can live on radioactive glass.

Haven't you seen the comic where a reporter asks Bush how he knows that Iraq has WMD? AND Bush replies, That's easy, we sold em to him! Just ask Rumsfeld, he was there!

I think he's suggesting that Iraq would be called Lake Iraq, and that Saddam would be very still and unmoving.

EDIT: /me glowers at shinerburke :)

Haven't seen that but it sounds like whoever drew it needs to get their facts straight. Yes the U.S. sold Iraq some chemical & biological agents in the 80's but they were sold to them by private companies for medical reseach. The same is not true however for the French, Russians, and Germans who sold them both the agents and the technology to convert them to weapons. France sold them the most, then Russia, Germany, then the U.S. I think the total U.S. sales equaled something along the lines fo 4% of the total amount of agent sold to Iraq.

Hmm, I wonder if this statement is, perhaps, a twist of some known fact. 2-3 Al Queda members *were* trained in Iraq and even took part in actions against Iraqi peoples on behalf of Saddam. However, they did this prior to being involved with Al Queda(they left Iraq and joined Al Queda).
