It has begun. Turkey didn't mass those 200,000 troops on the border for nothing.
I sense that there is a major plan in the works here and Washington probably knows exactly what although i cannot imagine.
I foresee this spiraling way out of control and that in some way there will be distinct ramifications for the United States.

While I support American invasion of Iran and Pakistan, I feel that Turkey should be left alone. They're good people.

Invasion of Pakistan and Iran? With what? Hypothetical troops? Imaginary resources? We didn't even have enough troops to do the surge right. Must be nice living in your hypothetical world. Are there unicorns there?

You have to understand a few things about Turkey now that you have consented to generously spare them from being executed.

First, they have a very large and competent army---and unlike Iraq---they are not paper tigers. Second, the net effect of the American occupation has been to empower the Kurds.
And Turkey with a large Kurdish minority feels very threatened by anything that empowers Kurds. And in the run up to the Iraqi invasion the central government of Turkey wanted to let the US use Turkish territory, but their own legislature refused. And Turkey as a whole has been getting more disenchanted every day with the US occupation . Thirdly, that Kurdish PPK terrorists have been using Iraqi soil to launch attacks inside of Turkey for years---and the US has done little of nothing to prevent it. And those 200,000 troops you see massed--if nothing else---Are hoped to be the police force that can apprehend any invading PPK bands raiding Turkey proper before they can flee back into Iraq. And saving the forth and largest danger for last, Turkey is now a secular government and stubbornly resists its radical right who would love to set up an Islamic State---and the US occupation of Iraq has given their radical right much added appeal. Believe me Nebor, you would not like a Mid-east with a Turkish Islamic radical right State.

And lastly---I have to have some grave doubts about your signature line which is---I'm not a neocon. I just like the way they do business.

Where I come from---if it looks like a duck, it quacks like a duck, then its probably a duck.
And its always open season on neocons here---and you are a neocon in my book.

And I don't know about the DangerAardvark question regarding the presence of unicorns in your imaginary world---but we do know your bowls of fruit loops are quite a few flakes short---and there is an a huge colony of bats in every belfry.

Ummm, I am about to join the military on August 12th for mandatory military service. Hopefully I'll be doing it somewhere on the west of Turkey.
