"American officials said today that four men arrested in connection with the killing of two American civilians working for the American occupation authority were apparently members of the new 70,000-member American-trained Iraqi police force."

It was a bloody mistake, and a serious misallocation of our finite manpower, money and material in our fight against terrorism.

I hope to hell it is not a failure.

I fear otherwise.

It was a failure before we even started, since the whole thing is based on lies, miscalculations, arrogance and stupidity. This is just another indication that Iraq isn't the cakewalk Bush claimed it would be.

That means that there are at least 69,996 more armed Iraqi agents free to do as they think they may,
and that's just the good guys.
