You're absolutely right. But the key word here is history.

Are problems are 40 years in the past. You guys executed a dude last week!

What is the real reason you hate the US so much? I mean you are pretty fargone if you are comparing the US to Iran.

I'd love to see an alternate universe where Australia was left to fend for itself without the US or Europe to protect it. How do you think things would turn out between you and the Chinese? Here's a hint: the Chinese wouldn't be paying for your natural resources...

Not the first person to die for the invisible man in the sky, and most certainly won't be the last. Hopefully as more time passes and science offers us more answers to our questions we will once and for all be gone of this cancer that has eaten away at our civilization for 1000's of years.

I love America, it's a great country. And I never compared it to Iran.

Criticizing <> hating.

You think I don't know we'd be fucked without UK or US help? What about it? We have 20 million people, what do you want from us?

We're allies. Help goes both ways. We're the only country to support the U.S. in every war since WW2.

there's no difference between one organized religion than another.

Why should christanity even be in Iran or Iraq? They have their own religion. The only reason why this made it here is because the dude had a christanity faith. How many here think if this dude believed any ANY OTHER religion the guy would have died and no one would even care about it.

The only reason I had to read about this worthless post is because it evolves around a myth that is no different than any other myth. So, I'll just say...

I told ya so. All religion's do suck. Good Luck believing what you want to believe just don't try passing this guilt trip around on everyone else.

Because we think that freedom is a good thing, rather than a society forcing a religion on people.

EXACTLY! So, if we are SO FREE, who's to say who's right or wrong? Let them be free to make up their own mind.

Why do we have to go over there and force our values on what WE think? What if we are wrong and they are right? Who's to say who IS right or wrong? Who really cares... In a totally FREE state, why should my tax money be spent on caring about if someone does something wrong?

My point is, let the people BELIEVE what they want to believe as a whole and give them the freedom to do it. Oh well. They have their own religion that have had since their society started. Why trash their religion and FORCE christianity on a society that clearly does not want it????

What to expect from a culture stuck in the glorious Middle Ages. What this world doesn't need is a male libido fueled polygamous society churning out the same stupid uneducated people at an ever-increasing rate.

Vietnam? Iraq? Does not speak well to a presence of Aussie common sense nor justice... D:

Digging a hole on those points.

Yet I do agree that the USA is not a state to truimph human rights when they are typical laggards throughought history. You picked up upon the inexusable capital punishment and we may add the sad state of legislated equality for sexual preferences..

Iran is wrong upon this issue. Though the USA is not to lecture as long as it continues to sanction state killing of those in control and custody. What gonads to reap killing vengeance upon those weak in your charge. The USA shares pathetic immoral company with Iran, China, Japan, etc...

Vietnam was a terrible war but we were there for the right reasons.

Iraq? Well, we were lied to about WMDs and whatnot. :sneaky:

No, we weren't. There was SOME motivation of 'right reasons', and some that wasn't.

You need to distinguish between the real and the politically designed reasons.

Every war is for 'protecting our country, freedom, liberty, attacking evil', just ask.

Every war by every side, that is.

Iraq? Well, we were lied to about WMDs and whatnot. :sneaky:

Lied isn't exactly the right word. It was 'decided to use the claim they had them'.

REASON we were in Iraq? Bush thinking it made him a more powerful President, IMO.

Because, as supporters of free choice for individuals rather than the government imposing on them, we can oppose the government doing that anywhere in the world.

'Opposing it' shouldn't mean war, though. It's not a 'license to slaughter them' to give them freedom - or to choose their government, oh darn, we 'freed' them to have our puppet.

They may have a dominant religion - that doesn't mean they should execute those who choose another, or that we shouldn't oppose it or not recognize it as 'barbaric'.

Craig never fails to bring the stupid. It's the only thing he doesn't fail at.

This is barbaric, but not unexpected from a backwards country like that.

There's something to be said for a stalwart ally. Even if your buddy starts the bar fight for no good reason, you still jump in to help him if you're a good friend.

Those two executed here were real criminals, who killed innocent victims. This guy has not done anything to anyone, he's getting executed simply for holding a belief. If you can't see the difference, it's because you've got the intelligence of a petunia.
