Eagle, you and I have different political perspectives. I take the "news" part of "Politics and News" literally. Some items can and should be reported as news. Assuming that you reported "news," do you have any observations on the significance of the news?

Whitling:

Iran originally stated that there were no al_Qaida coming in from Afganistan.
Now they have some key figures in custody.

The turn-around in attitude is timing suspect.
Lybia is the same. The leaders of these countries are realizing the the US may go it alone to cleanup the rats nest of terror support.
They want to make an effective gesture to alleviate hostilities and place themsevle below the miltary target radar.
Syria hopefully will join the pary and cause the support of terror groups in the Middle East to dwindle considerably.

I will expect that in return for US favors, they (Iran) will allow our people access to the captured operatives.
That additional information should assist in breaking the backbone of that terror network.

Iran realizes that they have internal problems and it may not be wise to piss off the big guy on the block until they get their house in order

It has alwys struck me that the people who fawn and get excited by the notion of American might possess themselves very small balls.

Perhaps... but, I always wonder about keeping friends close and the enemy closer.. Ya don't suppose they are trying to snuggle, snuggle with motives aplenty, do ya?

Not really. Iran arrested these suspects a long time ago, I remember reading about the arrests almost 2 years ago a short time after the start of the Aghanistan campaign. The only thing this proves is that Irans Justice system is dealing with Al Queda operatives faster than the US Justice system. ;)
