If those inspectors report obstruction? Then you've released the sanctions and gotten absolutely nothing in return. What does this get us, to have the inspectors thwarted?

Suppose it is better to play that game than to never have played at all. Is this all to save face in the international community? A chance to back down gracefully?

Sounds like a plan. At least this method is tried and true, and I'll know where I'll be in ~15 years. :D

Yup it so tried and true worked in Iraq and Afghanistan, and in another 15 years, Nebor can gain enough military seniority to get his turn in looting the US treasury by virtue of sheer incompetence.

Yeah, no reason to think those fine upstanding leaders of Iran would ever deceive anyone. All perfectly peaceful. No, really.():)

I'm not sure why we have this mini cold war going with Iran. Labeling them the axis of evil and all that nonsense. We created this threat, not them. We are to this day giving them a reason to pursue nukes... We need to eliminate that.

Because Iran's leadership is anti-Israel and the US has a huge Israeli lobby.

Because the military contractors need a boogieman to justify their raping of the U.S. taxpayer.

This must mean the sanctions are working and they are desperate to have them lifted. That means it's time to enact more sanctions and completely cripple them.

Uh, ask yourself this: What's the point of the Sanctions?

After what happened with libyia, Iran would be stupid to get rid of their WMDs.

lolz. Most people misspell Kaddifi, in fact it's a given, but not his county of origin.

Why? Why do I, as an ordinary American, need to have sanctions on Iran?

To pile it on, kick em when they're down and make an evil society eat itself alive.

Again, why do I care? How do I know that Iran is evil? What have they done to me?

can anyone, especially you Lemon Law, explain to us why Thorium nuclear power is insufficient for their needs? of course for no good reason Iran isn't interested in pursuing Thorium reactors.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe for the same reason the USA isn't, Thorium reactors only came into vogue years after Iran re started its nuclear program in 2002. And while Thorium reactors look good on paper, they are still unproved in reality. Its my understanding that China are doing the R&D, to see if Thorium will prove practical or not. As we will also find out if Thorium reactors are or are not worthless in terms of breeder reactors and are totally safe safe safe.

Don't forget, Heroin was supposed to be a safer version of opium. Sometimes science hype does not turn into end reality.

But still good point, will the future of electrical power generation be in Thorium? A more abundant element that does not require enrichment by centrifuge after stripping off the oxides in smelting.

Unlikely, the existing nuclear lobby is too large to move to Thorium, they like their waste reprocessing jobs.

Also, Thorium reactors were known to be a possibility when the decision was made to pursue uranium and plutonium-- we were too interested in having weaponizeable nuclear material to make bombs with, which Thorium does not provide.
Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWUeBSoEnRk

In short, pretty much everyone like me, who doesn't want Iran to have the infrastructure to produce weapons grade uranium, is OK with Thorium.

Why stop at Thorium, give them the ok to use He3 for Fusion. Hell, we can let them build a Dysan Sphere so they can go Solar!

It's all the same, just an onerous requirement they couldn't possibly attain any time soon.

What oil has been stolen?

  • Iraq has controlled their output; They decided who they would sell it to and also if any oil would flow through the pipelines.
  • Saudi - I do not think that we invaded them.
  • Libya - same comment.
  • Kuwait - I do not think that anyone else controls their output.
  • Who did we invade in the Gulf of Oman?

Or is that your personal agenda?:\
