It just occurred to me, any president starting a war or conflict within an election cycle can almost ensure that resident will be re-elected.
Republican presidents have a knack for pulling this stunt.
To further unite Trump's base and to re-unite those cross-over voters from 2016.
And I have no doubt that Mike Pompeo and others urged Donald Trump to take this action to ensure his re-election, and for no other reason.
After all, this is how they operate. We know that. We all know that.
IT'S ANOTHER DONALD TRUMP GIMMICK.
Interesting thing however, once re-elected and as that war continues, the people grow tired of the war and the cost and the never ending engagement thus that same president is suddenly hated immensely come the end of his second term.
War sounds fun and exciting, especially when the couch potato republicans don't have to physically fight in those wars.
Sit back and let someone else do the fighting. Duh.
And lets face it....
Middle Easterns can hold a grudge for a long long LONG time, even for decades.
Unlike the US where we operate in knee-jerk reactions, Middle Easterns might take 30 - 50 years to plan out their revenge.
Remember, those Middle Eastern countries do not have the military might or capability to knee-jerk react. They must be creative.
So...... what happens instead is that they will plan.
They will take all the time in the world to quietly plan their revenge.
Then, one day some 30 - 40 years from now something will happen. Some terrorist attack like 9/11 or like some other attack targeting America.
Then America will ask.... WHY?
WHY THIS ATTACK?
WHY NOW?
WHAT DID WE DO TO YOU?
And when that terrorist attack does take place some 30 - 40 years from now, it will be their revenge for the killing of the top Iranian commander way way WAY back in January of 2020.
JANUARY OF 2020 YOU SAY ????
Yep! That was the reason.
The reason they attack some 40 freaking years later.
They never forget.
They can hold a grudge for decades.
And they will eventually have their revenge.
Another problem we have to worry about, that in 30 - 40 years from now Iran and the terrorist just may have nuclear weapon capabilities to carry out their revenge against America. Revenge for that Trump strike against Iran way way back in 2020.
THIS is how it works and... how they operate over there in those Middle Eastern nations.
America has all might and power to strike within minutes even when that effort may be grossly misguided and the reaction grossly underestimated.
Terrorist, however, and Iran have no such power at their disposal. Terrorist must plan small scale terrorist attacks that will result in major damage with always including the element of surprise.
Heck.... before 9/11 Bin Laden sent his terrorist to flight school before they took action.
Now THAT was some damn major planning.
And they do love to plan, and they will hold a grudge for decades.

It is only the passing of time for them and for their revenge.
