We should mind our own business like the left wants. Then let Iran nuke someone, we retaliate in kind, problem solved.

Or maybe they will only nuke Kalifornia and New York. Then we should just consider it a favor, and continue to mind our own business still, while the left cry out that we should do something only after it's their own homes that are destroyed.

I fear it will take mushroom clouds on a daily basis before people realize whats going on. It won't be until their own neighborhoods look like the piles of rubble we see in places like Iraq before those people decide, "hey, we should probably do something."

It's easy to call the shots from an internet connection in a nice house in comfort and pretend the world is a pretty place where everyone gets along when YOU aren't the one dodging bullets in the rubble of your own home or worrying about the guy behind you in line at Starbucks exploding while you sip on your latte and yap on your cell phone.

Hmm lets see, anti-sementic rhetoric and scapegoating, nationalism, a race to get atomic weapons, the world standing by and watching and appeasing because nobody wants to offend anybody... where have I seen this before? Oh I remember now, except it was Germany, Italy, and Japan instead of Iran, North Korea and who else I wonder... and instead of the Nazi party going for ethic purity, we have Islam striving for religious purity in the world. And just like most of Europe was assimilated by Hitler before anyone realized what was going on, so too the muslims are assimilating Europe and changing the political landscape in their favor (see Spain bombings, French 'youth' riots, etc.)

Anyone who can't see this is an idiot who simply refuses to believe anything like that could ever happen... again where have I heard that before...

They refuse to allow the IAEA to inspect and monitor all aspects in all their nuclear facilities and that lends more than enough suspicion to warrant an accusation.

What proof do we need? We have been told that Israel is going to be wiped off the face of the map and that our cities will go up in infernos.

I don't know about anyone else here, but when someone standing next to me is loading their gun and saying they are going to kill me, I'm going to shoot them. I'm not going to wait for them to prove anything.

I'm also waiting for the part about why a country with that much oil and so little energy needs requires nuclear power to such an extent they are importing uranium AND mining their own to make the fuel, even when they don't seem to care about anything else...

In addition we have isolated nuclear reactors, lots of fuel and refineries, but no power stations or power delivery support infrastructure... hmm I wonder what they really want all that uranium for.

So here you go....no more me pulling links that demonstrate why we would never want Iran to have a nuke. Please tell the thread viewers how you would keep the ME nuke weapon free, come on, I'd love to hear your plan, as you are so extremely smart to criticize a whole Adminstration and it's staff that deals with international issues day in and day out. You are obviously vastly smarter than they are, so please, enlighten us on your views on how to keep Iran from gainin a nuke:

I like how the administration is currently handling it with Iran. With diplomacy, no war.

JPeyton, the man asked a question...

way to skirt the issue.

You selectively answer posts, usually saying: "The US gave away WMD's." That was done 30 years ago when our foreign interests were highly different, namely we were in the middle of the cold war.

You need to come up with a new tune Aimster.

I'm far more frightened by the war-mongering pigs who run this country (USA), and their stockpiles of nukes.

I'm also worried about people who care more about starting wars with other countries than taking care of our own issues like poverty and racism, religious fundamentalism and overbearing jerk-offs who claim to have a right to tell others how to live their lives based on "the word of god".

Sorry, my bigger enemy is this government, THEN the islamic fundies on the other side of the world.

That is perhaps one of the craziest things I've seen here yet on P&N.

Why - ever - would you be afraid of our own government using nukes on us? That by itself it just way off the range.

Given the federal governments primary responsibility is handling federal foreign affairs (as no state government can or wants to do this), the fed's "own" issue that they should be worrying about first is other countries.

People are poor here in the US because their either dumb, overbred in their area (hint: If you cannot support yourself, don't have kids!), lazy, and in some cases, just live in totally depressed areas with no job market.

Racism? You've got to be kidding me...the federal government should be taking time away from actual things it should be doing to combat what little racism exists in this country still? That's another unreal statement...

Religious Fundamentalism? They are paying attention to that. In fact, we all got to see what that reaps on 9/11. We are not even remotely close to that type of fundamentalism thank god, and unlike other countries, we don't have a media or civiliam environment here that totally brainwashes our young. The vast majority of our young are either going to be brainwashed by their own parents, or will make their own decision. But the federal government being involved, another crazy statement...

You have got some very very strange perception of what the US federal government actually exists for.

Chuck

Yup we are screwed.

Vote for the left and communism and islam is let loose to run rampant.

Vote for the right and we have corporate pocket lining and moral superiority complexes.

I want a candidate that:

-would pull out of all world affairs and promise to mind our own business provided that?

-? it also comes with the promise of indiscriminate annihilation if they don't leave us alone as well (i.e.: we pull out of the middle east completely, but if one jihadi still feels compelled to set off a bomb of any kind on US soil we send about 40 ICBMs to the middle east and get back to our daily lives without a blink)

-let people do as the please in their own homes and own and do whatever they want as long as they don't bother or endanger anyone else (i.e.: drop all the anti-gun, anti-gay, anti-abortion, anti-SUV, etc, anti-private property rights BS; the government has no business in what people do or own on their own time on private property). If you don?t like guns, don?t buy one. If you don?t like abortion in your religion, don?t get one. It?s that simple.

-Run the country based on the constitution and not personal feelings or the feelings or opinions of misguided protest-at-everything-that-moves socialist white guilt college youths. Just let them whine, they will learn the hard lessons themselves through real world experience in due time.

-make equal opportunity mean just that; that means ?united Hispanic college fund? is just as racist and discriminatory as ?white Caucasian college fund?

-lock down the border so we have orderly and documented legal immigration and less lawlessness and disorder from rampant illegal immigrants who know they are immune to any consequences

-start the systematic disbanding of excess government bureaucracies (IRS, ATF, homeland security, etc)

-cut off social services to able bodied people who just want a free ride. Getting laid off because of a corporate scam or being displaced because of a disaster is a reason to be on welfare for up to one year. Not wanting to work at McDonalds because you dropped out of school, smoked weed, and had 15 kids is not. Also, alcoholism is NOT a medical disorder.

-enforce free market policies while not allowing those in monopolistic positions (i.e.: oil oligopolies) to abuse its position

-disband all oil cartels, oligopolies, and cooperatives and enforce fierce competition between oil companies. Case in point, when was the last time you heard of a oil company going out of business due to strong competition? Huh?

-eliminate the power of lawyers to sway jurors based on sob stories and emotion alone. Facts, logic, and the law alone should determine the outcome of a case. I don?t care if it was a white guy that shot a black guy, or a black guy that shot a white guy, if he pulled the trigger and it wasn?t in self defense, it was murder, end of story.

-term limits on ALL government offices, esp. representatives, senators, and judges. We need to get rid of activist judges and congress members (i.e.: people like McCarthy, Boxer, Feinstein, etc.) This also forces voters to pay attention to the issues and new candidates instead of just checking the familar name every year of someone who is used to being in power for so long they can just do whatever they want.

-eliminate political campaigns. voters should know, or be required to know, who they want to vote for. We shouldn't have politicians buying votes with lavish political advertising based on who has the biggest brightest most colorful poster.

-mandatory sunset period on all controversial legislation such as gun bans, abortion rulings, etc. This ensures that no single ruling party can establish permanent one way foor in the door slippery slope style legislation that can never be undone or challenged.

-<not even close to everything>

What about communist leaning news networks and public education systems teaching our kids that concepts like private property and self defense is wrong and that you are a bad person just for being white?

 to exdeath.

Unfortunately we'll never get a candidate like that.

The left and right would go bezerk.

The best we're going to do security-wise is right leaning, the majority of the left folks are just way left, much to far to ever be trusted.

Not really... I don't care for any media networks. As long as I see on at least three major websites that a bomb went off somewhere, that is sufficient for me to believe that a bomb most likely went off somewhere. That is about the extent of my reliance or confidence on ANY news networks.

True, but at least you know if you see it on the other news networks, and you see the same thing on Fox, then it's probably true.

If you see one thing on PBS, and another on Fox, then you know something is up. Then you just decide who to believe...which means if you're left leaning, PBS, and right leaning, Fox.

I'm not worried about the government using nukes on us, why in the world would I be worried about that? I'm talking about the government using WMDs on OTHER countries. I'm not a nationalist, I don't care ONLY about my own country men/women.

Poverty could be well taken care of by not feeding misinformation to the poor due to their lack of adequate access to better forms of media, and resources for finding work. Instead of spending billions on killing people, why not spend it on something that matters, like poor people? I'm sorry if you think that the majority of poor people deserve or at least have brought upon themselves their situation, but this simply is not the case. There are far too many people who have not been given enough of a chance to succeed.

US intervention in other countries affairs? Two words: World Police

Racism in itself is a non-issue. If someone decides to hate others based on no good reason, that is their F'ed up decision. However, the sheer number of people in this country who hate others, or at the least, FEAR others based on their race or differing cultures shows that we as a "moral country" are failing. We should not have this many people with idiotic ideals about different cultures and people if we are supposed to be a civilized nation. We're not a civilized nation. We're just a more spoiled rotten nation of misinformed sheeple.

The fundamentalism I am speaking mainly of, is the force driving our county as we speak. Christian fundamentalism.

The president, his administration, and too many of their followers are hell bent on controlling peoples lives based on the flaky and unproven writings of the bible. Religion should have no place in any persons life if they do not wish it to be there. The very fact that this admin, and others along with it, have thwarted the rights of gays for this many years is the REAL abomination. It's sickening that in the "greatest" nation in the world, religious idiots can control OUR lives.

We have a LONG WAY TO GO before we're actually civilized, as a people.

Say we mind our own business and pull out of the Middle East, but they decide that?s not enough, that we have to be Islamic as well, or face future attacks. Will that be sufficient reason to retaliate? A mushroom cloud on US soil? Pure pacifism doesn't work. Where do we draw the line at when we can fight back?

Poverty... How many people choose to not go to school and not work because they can sit on their ass and pump out babies for free money? If we cut off welfare and cable TV to trailer parks we wouldn't 'need' illegals to do 'all the jobs Americans don't want to do'. Why should I be required to give up my hard earned income and put off my goals to pay more in taxes to subsidize someone's food and rent because they bought an Escalade and a plasma TV on a credit card they can't afford? Where do we draw the line between people who need honest help for the short term, and people who need to be left to deal with the consequences of their own poor choices? It is not the governments, nor my, job to save people from their own actions.

Racism, there is plenty of it. The government however participates in prosecuting white people more harshly in an attempt to over compensate and appear fair in the eyes of non white people. Racism is Racism, period.

Religion? Has no place in society since 1900 as far as I'm concerned. Warship UFOs and fairies in your home for all I care. Leave it out of the government and public property. F=ma and reinforced concrete built the highways you are driving on, not Jesus and angel blood.

I'm sorry if you think that the majority of poor people deserve or at least have brought upon themselves their situation, but this simply is not the case. There are far too many people who have not been given enough of a chance to succeed.

The poor though find ways to go apply for food stamps and section 8, but you're telling me thay can't find a job? Please. It's about having fundamental expectations set when you're young, and having a fundamental understanding of the consequences of not meeting those expectations. The fact that millions of immigrants (both legal and illegal) can come to this country and succeed, yet people who have been poor for generations will not, tells you all you need to know. Stop making excuses for them, that's why their still like that. And for the record, I think everyone deserves a chance, and agree that far too many aren't given much of one. Perhaps the ACLU and NAACP can quite spending millions on attacking government, law enforcement, and private business, and instead maybe spend all that money on something productive, like oh say Not having kids until you can support yourself first, and then them. Or maybe, paying attention in school instead of jacking around. Or how about, going out and making it in life instead of waiting for it to come easy. Here's another one: Don't show up to a job interview with brand new pants halfway falling off, and a total lack of being able to answer simple questions in anything approaching English (and no I'm not making that up, I was personally an interviewer for that one...and, the guy was white, so spare me the You're a racist comments).

US intervention in other countries affairs? Two words: World Police
You got me there. I agree we should go totally hands off in the world. With the caveat as another poster posted in this thread or another that we get attacked, we're not asking the UN to take care of it (since they'll have failed and preventing us from getting attacked), we'll take care of it ourselves. Since we have like 10,000 nuclear devices, I'm sure you can see which way I'd be leaning in our response...

I agree it's a non-issue for the government, that's why I couldn't understand why you wanted our federal government to waste money on it.

The fundamentalism I am speaking mainly of, is the force driving our county as we speak. Christian fundamentalism.
Like 90% of the people who practice religion here in the US are of some type of Christian faith. If you're wanting to get away from that totally, you need to pick another country. Personally, I just ignore them, and hey, I'm Catholic (or once was last time I checked...)

Not really up on how the president is controlling people lives and thwarting gay rights, I don't really feel anymore controlled than I did 2 terms ago, so not sure what you're saying here. I agree that gays should have all the legal rights as married hetero couples do. I do not think though that the term marriage should be applied to gays. Marriage for the past couple thousand years has been 1 man and 1 woman...sorry, but hetero''s got that term first. Gays can pick their own new term, maybe it can be garriage, I don't know. The voters overwhelming support marriage as 1 man, 1 woman, so it's not like Bush is way out there on this one.

We have a LONG WAY TO GO before we're actually civilized, as a people.

Well, I and the people around me are civilized as far as I can tell...maybe you need to change locations or something...

Exactly. You fail as usual. Did you miss the thread that says U.S is hiring terrorist to kill Iranians

Are you seriously saying Iran which has supported Hezzbollah for years (who inciedentally have killed like lots of Americans) shouldn't be considered a terrorist nation?

US is hiring terrorists to kill Iranians? Man, that must be a mind trip for Iran...here they've been doing that to the Israeli's for years, and now their getting it? You think they'll stop funding Hezzbollah now that their tasting their own medicine? Yeah...I didn't think so either...
