Not at all. While the pirates had broken off the attack, they fled the area when the Iranian ship appeared. There is a difference.

It's remarkable how far some will reach in an attempt to discredit Iran at any and all levels...

yawn.

Too bad our UAV Reapers would create too much of a diplomatic headache to allow them to be used in the Strait. They sure would be effective out there.

The OP claims the Iranian navy saved the US freighter from pirates. Apparently that was not actually the case. If the pirates fled once the Iranian navy showed up, and after security on the ship sucessfully defended itself from those same pirates, fine. But that doesn't back up what the OP claimed.

Noboody has tried to discredit the Iranian navy. Don't get so butthurt when the actual facts come to light.

Between the two accounts; it seems that
  • Pirates attempted to attack the Texas.
  • Texas was able to prevent any boarding by the pirates
  • Iranian ship shows up as a result of the Texas having broadcasted a distress call.
  • Pirates think it is better to leave the area with the Iranian ship there - no chance to try again

Iranian ship claim credit for driving the pirates off - potential true. A cargo ship is one thing to tangle with; a gunship is something else.
