Most likely.

I'd be willing to hold some of their assets, for a reaonable fee. ;)

He never does. Besides, India has never been a traditional ally of the USA, much the opposite.

We are all mising something if we don't realise Iran is preparing for UN sanctions over their
membership in the nuke club.-----and is preparing to withhold their oil from world markets
causing crude oil prices to rise to unprecidented levels.---so expect gas prices way over $3.
a gallon if this crisis is not averted.

The two averting actions would include war and delicate diplomacy.

1. War is not an option because Bush is already stretched thin in Iraq.

2. Delicate diplomacy is not a forte of Bush's nor does Iran seem ameanable to that either.

So look for a long struggle----who can outlast the other---and cheer up---we the consumers get to
pay the price at the pump. But in a world demanding oil-----Iran withholding their production will shift the international alliances-----and get the complacent nations off the fence.

Smarter nations will go for alternative energy sources-----the smarter nation set does not include the US who has done nothing to work on alternative energy.

Of course Iran is a threat. What we disagree on is why Iran is a threat, and what should be done about that threat.

But this move likely has more to do with a perceived fear from Iran of asset seizure than with anything else.

Iran is not a threat to the U.S at all.

Iran is a threat to Israel, but Israel is also a threat to Iran.

Anyways,

I hope Iran doesn't get nuclear weapons.

We don't have friends, in Asia or elsewhere. We have temporary allies, chosen, bribed or pressured for the particular political and military expedience at the moment. As soon as they show some independence, they may quickly become enemies. The world is littered with former friends of ours, bombed to oblivion once they're no longer needed.

Wow you guys are sure negative.

Geo-politically speaking Taiwan and South Korea don't have much power thats why I didn't mention them.

India and Japan are democracies and share many ideals with America

Israel isn't really Asia, its M.E. and thats a whole diff situation

So, just for future reference, what continent would you say is Israel on?

7 continents exist.
No way it is in NA, SA, Australia.
The Suez seems to seperate it from Africa.
Aegean Sea would seem to remove it from Europe.

What is left. Asia?

But maybe the continents have shifted since I last took geography in Middle School.

I would suspect that BBond has the same type of schooling.:p

Not to nitpick, but you only used 6 continents in your analysis.

Perhaps Israel is part of Antarctica?

Had to ensure that others know their geography and math. Some may actually think that the ME is down there:p

And speaking of no friends in Asia...

Worry as Chinese reserves poised to touch historic US$1 trillion level

China has been investing its reserves in US government debt and held US$247 billion in treasury bonds at the end of October, making it the largest investor after Japan. The bank said the Government was looking for new ways to invest the money to seek higher returns.

...with Iran looking Eastward for safe haven for its funds.
