Iran is a parlimentary democracy. Would you please stop spreading lies? They held elections just this year.

There was this one Mullah was supposed to be the succesor after Khormeni. However, he wasn't. He had some views that were totally against what Khormeni stood for. He wanted no religion forced on the people and said forcing it will make the people go against it. They couldn't kill him because he is an important person for Shia Muslims. So he was locked up in his house for decades so he wouldn't be allowed to speak. He is free now and he talks here and there, but it's too late to make a difference. He doesn't have power.
And there was this princess who married a handsome prince and they lived happily ever after...![]()
Let me guess Sultan .. you agree with the Islamic Laws forced on the people in Iran.

Nice election. Many people were not allowed to run because they would win and they are against the Mullahs. Nice way to run a country.

emm, over 5500 candidates ran out of 7500 that filed papers. Thats pretty good considering we Americans only had a choice between Bush or Kerry.

Let me guess Aimster... you agree with Bush trying to tell women they cannot have abortion or with Kerry who endorses muder.
I'm not in Iran, and if those people wish to do something about their government, they can change it themselves. They dont need Americans to tell them what they should agree with or not agree with.

They have no power. The head Mullah has the final say. Those elections are worthless if the head can strike down whatever he wants. Even if 100% of them agree on something the head Mullah can say too bad.
those 2,000 that didn't run were part of the reform party and many of them were up for reelection. INCLUDING the President's own brother!!!!

I don't agree with anyone telling women what to do. I also don't agree on the U.S telling Iran what to do. They don't even talk for the U.S to tell Iran what to do.
By the way abortion is against Islam. In the M.E they say no no. They also kill homosexuals there. What is the difference what Bush is doing and what they do in countries you stick up for?

Ridiculous. You havent ever been to the Middle East. If the US can impose no abortion, whats wrong with the Middle East imposing Islamic Law which says the SAME thing? And I've NEVER heard of homosexuals being killed. Keep spreading lies.

Were those 5500 candidates running for one national office?
Homosexuals get killed trust me. It isn't like the U.S were people look at them and walk away. Nobody tells you they are homosexual there. If they find out they will get killed by their neighbor. It's wrong to have Islamic Law when the country doesn't agree with it.
Face it Iran doesn't like Islam and they want a change. Nobody fast in Iran right now. It is Ramadam. You don't impose Laws that people dont want to follow.
If Iranian citizens had their way they wouldnt have no Mullah running their country.

Then why are you compairing it to our presidential election.
We had 600+ people elected 1 week ago into our Federal government, and who knows how many times that into our state & local governments.
That would indicate close to 2000 people who competed for the Federal elections.
Sounds like the American people had a quite few choices vs Bush/Kerry that you insinuated.
